Letter: Residency made Whitlow ineligible for board

Over the past year, I attended a number of Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission meetings.

MPPDC chairperson Louise Theberge conducts very structured meetings, and forces adherence to the commission’s rules, particularly when citizens are involved.

In that vein, Ms. Theberge has an opportunity to continue to follow the MPPDC rules under the charter and bylaws of the MPPDC.

After the MPPDC meeting ended on Jan. 25, Essex County Commissioner David Whitlow publicly indicated he resides in White Stone, Lancaster County. The White Stone Registrar’s Office confirmed that Whitlow has been registered to vote in Lancaster County from 2004 to present.

Mr. Whitlow did not meet the qualifications to be an Essex County MPPDC commissioner in any capacity. In fact, he did not meet the requirements to be a commissioner for any of the six counties or three towns under the MPPDC umbrella.
