Editor, Gazette-Journal:

On behalf of the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, I would like to publically thank all the citizens of Mathews County who have so generously supported us doing our current fund drive.  

Even though we are experiencing tough economic times, our citizens have come through as usual and your generous donations will allow us to continue to provide the many services of this squad.  

We also would like to acknowledge the Mathews County Board of Supervisors for their support in fully funding our budget needs for the upcoming year. Without these two sources of support, we would not be able to continue to provide training, professional care nor the 24-hour staffing which allows us to respond quickly to the needs of our citizens.

On behalf of all of our members and the Board of Directors, I sincerely thank you.
