Letter: Remembering Ted Williams

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

My favorite nerd, Ted Williams, left his earthly bonds to be with the Father earlier this month. Ted was a kind and loving husband, father and friend. He cared passionately about his dear wife, Karen, his children Doug and Juli, and their spouses. He had hoped to be with us long enough to meet his first grandchild (due at any minute). He was a man of character and faith.

Ted was really smart and talented. He designed and built boats, some big and lethal, some museum-quality replicas and others whimsical. He and Karen loved old sports cars, first, MGs, and then he lapsed into Corvettes (as if those are real sports cars!).

He also loved his country. He was a conservative and he had opinions which he shared willingly. I will miss his letters to the editor … whether you agreed or not with his thinking, I’ll bet you looked for his letters each week and read them as I did.
