Letter: Reign of terror against Republicans

Captain Truscott’s letter (“We can vote Kaine out,” Oct. 11 Readers Write), while I applaud it, failed to chronicle the reign of terror against Republicans over the past few years.

On Oct. 17, 2016, the Republican campaign headquarters in Hillsborough, North Carolina, was firebombed. The terrorists left a spray-painted message “… Republicans leave town or else.” During the inauguration, the rioting across our land was simply evil. Then a Sanders supporter opens fire on a Republican House softball team, wounding Rep. Scalise seriously. Sen. Rand Paul is viciously assaulted while mowing his lawn. Both he and his wife have received “credible” death threats.
