Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am writing to express my wholehearted support for the reelection of Linda G. Hodges to the Mathews County School Board, and to urge the voters of Mathews to support her as well.

I first met Linda Hodges when our two children were students at Mathews High School, and Linda was Director of School Counseling. I observed first-hand how she was always prepared to competently and compassionately assist students at all levels and with all manner of individual needs, whether they were dealing with an emotional crisis or seeking to reach a lofty goal for their future.

In her nearly eight years on the school board, Linda has consistently demonstrated this same high level of compassion and concern for the well-being and advancement of all students of Mathews County. Being an educator myself, I understand the difficulty of meeting a wide diversity of student needs, and I recognize and appreciate it when a professional like Linda is able to accomplish this.
