Letter: Reach out to those alone at Christmas

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Remember hearing “there’s no place like home?” Just about everyone has and there is great power in those words, but there are some who don’t know where to find that home we talk about. Virginians often have family members near them or at least not too far away, but there are many who find themselves alone.

If we are fortunate and have family or friends who can share the joy of Christmas with us, it would be good to reach out to those who are alone, and invite them to enjoy this time with new friends.

God gave His son to us as the way to joy that we could never find on our own, and sharing this gift by inviting someone to join your Christmas celebration is a good way to say thank you to Him for all the blessings we have.
