I recently heard Scott Adams (Dilbert creator and author) suggest that if one believes they can predict the future that they should go on record and write it down or tell a friend and ask to be reminded if/when they are wrong.
That said, I’m going on record as saying that if Mathews County fails to re-elect Mike Walls and David Jones that we can kiss Grimstead Landing goodbye and the next four years will not see the end of pump and haul. The BOS votes of those two gentlemen and Mr. Doss are the only thing standing in the way of the plan to sell the building and the landing.
I could not care less about the Hole In The Wall as a business. I wish them the best! Shame they were not located on the other side of the Haven with unlimited parking, the same beautiful views, and easier (though still not inexpensive) forced sewer main access. I would also very much like to see the Islander open and thriving again.
That said, pump and haul has been in use for over 30 years...
