Letter: Questions reporter’s interpretation

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am writing in response to the news story by Tyler Bass titled, “Committee to consider future county solar projects.” The article states in part.

“The meeting began with 33 citizen comments from residents who spoke out on solar power generation. The opinions were divided, with a majority against the construction of more farms, while a significant minority was in support of more farms being built.”

Factually, there were 33 comments made, but one of those comments was made by a representative of one of the solar companies. Out of 32 actual residents who spoke, 25 were against “uncontrolled” solar farm growth. That leaves seven residents who make up what Mr. Bass described as “a significant minority in support of more farms being built.”

More people would appreciate your paper without its slanted news stories.
