Letter: Quality education is occurring every day

With all of the serious budget issues Gloucester County and the school board have to deal with I think maybe sometimes the fabulous successes of the school system get missed. While the school board and board of supervisors may spar over the size of a gym in a new school, they have not lost sight of what is important.

A group of students at GHS have an opportunity to travel to California for a robotics team world championship and the school board enthusiastically backed these students. The public may not know it but students at GHS are a powerhouse in Virginia in the area of robotics. Our students are being educated and prepared for technology jobs with leading industries through-out the world. Regional industries are taking note of where quality STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) graduates are being produced.
