Letter: Qualities of a leader

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I came across an interesting interview on qualities of leadership with Doris Kearns Goodwin, a Pulitzer Prize-winning historian. She had the following things to say which I thought might be of interest to your readers:

“A leader normally takes blame when things are wrong.

A leader normally shares credit when things are right.

A leader normally builds a team with people who are strong minded and can argue with him and then you get a purpose within that team.

A leader normally controls his negative emotions.

A leader normally communicates honestly and with truth.”

Aren’t these the qualities we want and need in our leaders?
