Letter: Putting an end to D.C.’s spendthrift ways

The policies of our representatives in Congress, coupled with a spendthrift president, are the recipe for the downfall for a great America, our legacy from those who worked and fought so hard to make it reality.

We hear so often these days that there are not cuts in the federal budget that can be made; everything is mandated from prior administrations. It is simply a bald-face inaccuracy to all who will believe. The federal Export-Import Bank is a classic example, requesting an increase in its lending cap from $100 billion to $160 billion through 2015.

Boeing is a $45 billion beneficiary at the expense of other, less fortunate companies, allegedly to subsidize Boeing’s ability to win contracts in China and India and elsewhere to compete with other American companies and our airlines themselves, a tremendous cost to those less fortunate based on the judgment of Washington bureaucrats.
