Letter: Pro-life options

Many pregnant women who can’t or don’t want to raise a child are often told abortion is their only solution. Actually, a possible adoption and the guarantee of Safe Haven are two good pro-life options.

Safe Haven is in all 50 states. It allows the mother to give her newborn baby to a hospital or competent authority anonymously with no questions asked. Although laws vary by state, general requirements are that the baby be less than two weeks old and unharmed. Her baby will be eligible for adoption.

Two very big problems with abortions are they are final and often result from a quick decision. It’s too late if the pregnant woman has an abortion and then realizes she could have raised her child, or her family, the child’s father/family, or Care Net would have helped, or if someone wanted to adopt her child.
