Letter: Privatizing would benefit taxpayers

Back in the day when I was in the world of employment, I went through the processes of a reduction in force. Later in life, as a manager of a major contracting effort for the government, the contract came up for re-negotiation. Naïve me, I thought, ‘Oh, these poor souls are all going to be out of work.’ Naïve me soon found out that was not the case—as the new contract was awarded to another corporation, the head of the old was extracted. The new head was smart to rehire all the workers of the prior contract. Nothing changes, only the faces of management. The responsibilities, accountability, tasking and daily communications and oversight are never lost in the change-out.
