Letter: Privatizing bus drivers is a bad idea

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I attended the Gloucester budget hearing on schools. I’m all for saving money, but not at the expense of the bus drivers and lunch room personnel. I’m against contracting out bus drivers because Gloucester has a hard time each year finding qualified drivers. Many of the drivers only drive because they can get insurance rates through the county at group rates. You could only save money by cutting out their insurance. Many of the drivers would quit driving if this happens. Good drivers with good driving records are hard to find.
