Editor, Gazette-Journal:
In the Richmond Times-Dispatch editorial on Thursday, Aug. 30, I read that:
“Remember when Donald Trump proposed pulling the U.S. out of the Paris climate accords? Scientists, environmentalists, and talking heads began to scream … But a funny thing happened. Emission rates didn’t increase. In fact, according to the latest world climate report from the BP Statistical Review of World Energy, the U.S. actually reduced carbon emissions by 0.5 percent—the greatest reduction of all major countries … What makes this so remarkable is that we were able to reduce our emissions even as the economy grew by about 3 percent. And, we lowered them without an international treaty or an act of Congress. We did it without a carbon tax and without a cap-and-trade emissions program.”
Could this be the greatest president of all time?
