Letter: Plant God’s love, not hate

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The recent murders in the church in South Carolina are an example of the seeds of hate planted in the minds of too many children. Mothers and fathers have to be of one mind in what they teach their children, and this should be God and His word, that all of us are to love one another as He loves each of us.

Man’s law alone hasn’t the power to change the minds and hearts of people, but when God is our source of power, He will provide the strength we need to do so and can heal those hurt by such ignorance and hate. This is not the time to form more laws and penalties because man has tried this method for centuries and failed, but in America we need to invite God back into our daily life, including our schools, because the more often our young learn of His love and how to love one another, the better chance we have of preventing those seeds of hate being planted.
