Letter: Peer through the smoke

Wow. What a mess we find ourselves in these days!

Such a constant feeding frenzy for the media. Breaking news 24/7 and the latest only lasts for a very short time. It has reduced our collective attention span to not much more than a week.  

The midterm elections are close at hand. It seems that most attention is focused on the President’s tweets. Some of us relish the boldness, others are embarrassed for our nation and its leadership, others are frightened and see the demise of democracy. All of those reactions are personal and emotional.

In response, I have decided to fact check just about everything that will affect me and my community and country. So here’s one to keep in mind and to perhaps get you out to the polls on Nov. 6.
