Letter: Partners made Oyster Roast a success

The Mathews Rotary had such a gorgeous fall day for our third annual Oyster Roast and BBQ Riot, but it was not the weather that made this event successful. We have so many people to thank for making this such an enjoyable and profitable fundraiser.

We want to thank our loyal sponsors who donated $250 or more to defray expenses for this event and other efforts of the Mathews Rotary. These sponsors were: Chesapeake Bank, Noble Pest Control, Swords Marine Services, Rappahannock Concrete, Queens Creek Marina, Davenport and Company LLC, and the Feral Cat Coalition.

We could not have had such an enjoyable event without the donated services and products of many generous Mathews businesses and organizations. Some of those we need to recognize are: Sterling Hudgins at M&M Building Supply, Bert and Thomas Cross of Lucky Dog Oyster Company, and Jean Roberts of the Feral Cat Coalition.
