Letter: Page property provides opportunity for smart planning

The Gloucester Board of Supervisors and the School Board have deliberated intelligently concerning the option of rebuilding Page Middle School, or building and moving to a location across the highway (Route 17), but not bordering this busy thoroughfare.

Despite the nostalgia associated with our early school, it was a wise decision for the school system, our students and transportation, and our taxpaying citizens.

The old property was not large enough to accommodate the expanded school complex, and would be a very expensive site for administration and transportation.

In my estimation, after having participated in the EDA acquisition of the property for the professional business park, which now is complete, additional land should be zoned to encourage the expansion of this use moving south to include the Page school site and beyond, where minimal development has occurred.

Just imagine what this would do to enhance the appearance of Gloucester County a...
