The Mathews Rotary has so many people to thank for making our second annual Oyster and BBQ Riot a rousing success. We had seven sponsors who helped us execute a profitable event to pay for the many projects/nonprofit organizations in Mathews we continue to support. These sponsors were: Chesapeake Bank, Dr. Ben Lennon, MetroCast Communications, Morningstar Marinas, Noble Pest Control, Swords Marine, Seasons Best Lawn Care, and Feral Cat Society.

We could not have had such an enjoyable event without the donated services and products of many generous Mathews businesses and organizations. Some of those we need to recognize are: Sterling Hudgins at M&M Building Supply, Ron Sopko of Sea Farms Inc., Bert and Thomas Cross, and Jean and Steve Roberts of Feral Cat Society. Charlie Carter made sure the oysters were roasted to perfection. Piankatank Ruritans and Mathews Little League provided the facilities needed for this original Mathews experience.
