Letter: Opioid misuse: Learn the facts, save a life

The opioid misuse epidemic has severely affected Virginians, including those in Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. On average, four Virginians die of a drug overdose and over two dozen are treated daily for overdoses in our emergency departments. In the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula, more than ninety-three persons have died since 2007 from prescription or street opioid overdoses.

What can you do to reduce the effects on your community? Become educated on the facts and learn to reverse the effects of an overdose by taking REVIVE! Training. Three Rivers Health District and Three Rivers Medical Reserve Corps are committed to reducing the impact to our communities through education and training programs.
