Letter: One incredibly special lady

Editor, Gazette-Journal: We are quickly approaching the 40th Daffodil Festival on March 28 and 29. It takes many volunteers to help make this a fun and safe festival. Over the years, the faces of the volunteers have changed. There is one incredibly special lady who has been a volunteer for over 30 years. She has worn many hats over this timespan. She is knowledgeable regarding the festival’s history. She has organized the activities for the selection of the Daffodil Queen, and then the Little Miss, and now the newly implemented Junior Miss. Mary Boerner has worked tirelessly over the years to make sure every little detail is covered. Her job does not stop after the queens are crowned. She helps find activities throughout the community where all the queens can help. Our past queens stay in touch with Mary.
