Letter: On a list, and waiting

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am so looking forward to getting my vaccination that at times my quest to schedule a vaccine appointment is disheartening. I’ve contacted my local health department and they have put my name “on a list.” I’ve contacted three of the big pharmacies and they all tell me they have no vaccine and don’t know when or if they will be getting any. I am in the 1b category and do not have a primary care physician through Riverside or Sentara.

Do we know if Gloucester will have a large venue vaccination site or what plans are being made so the residents who want a vaccine can get one? No one seems to know anything except put your name on the list. A friend of mine who lives in Ohio said there is also a “no waste” list there, a list of people who were unable to get an appointment because of inventory at the sites. If someone doesn’t show up for their appointment a person from the no waste list gets called and can take that dose as long as they can get to the vaccin...
