Letter: Not supporting military

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

It’s a sad day in the United States when the Army suggests that its soldiers apply for SNAP benefits, also known as food stamps, while spending billions in foreign wars and a new green energy bill that will never work.

Based on the Pentagon’s own data, 24 percent of enlisted personnel are food insecure, caused by shrinking paychecks and inflation. Is this how you want your military families to live? It is no wonder the recruiting numbers are dismal and the admission standards are low.

We should be supporting our troops by every means necessary. This administration does not care about you or your military.

We need to change this by voting Nov. 8. Vote these people out before we fall deeper into a mess we can’t recover from.
