Letter: Norm Mosher for Congress

The military presence in Virginia is crucial to our economy and those who serve deserve our gratitude and support. But Rob Wittman voted twice to shut down the government, ushering in sequestration, costing the Defense Department billions. He voted yes to oil and gas exploration in the George Washington National Forest and off the Virginia coast (which the Navy has opposed), against the new GI bill, against funding for the Veterans Administration to reduce the backlog of cases at VA hospitals, and voted to cut education and job assistance programs for returning service members.

Wittman voted against renewing the Violence Against Women Act, a woman’s right to choose, against equal pay for equal work and raising the minimum wage.

Rob Wittman voted 52 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which allowed 10.5 million people to purchase health insurance and 27 states to expand Medicaid programs to the working poor. The savings in health care costs have al...
