Democrats are called many things by the opposition. Some of it is old, silly stuff; some has been brought on by the Trump presidency.

“Loony left” is a pretty common and particularly comical in the face of GOP Senatorial candidate Corey Stewart, not exactly a shining light of reason by any stretch of the imagination.

“Socialist” is fairly new in today’s discussion based solely on the statements and beliefs of a few Democratic candidates and Bernie Sanders, who is not, by the way, a Democrat.

“Nazi” was a surprise in a recent letter in this paper, since it is Trump and his cohorts who appear to believe in a dictatorial form of government. Let us not forget Charlottesville, where neo-Nazis and white supremacists marched in similar fashion as their idols in 1930s Germany, and were described by Trump as “some were nice people.” And it is Trump who cozies up to dictators like Kim of Korea, Putin of Russia and...
