I attended the informational meeting on the Strata Solar facility and found it helpful. I believe Gloucester’s leadership has a responsibility to do three things: first, protect the general heritage of that part of the county, which I believe this project accomplishes by providing certainty to the land use on the project site for at least three decades, and possibly longer; second, make sure there is appropriate buffering, which I believe has been done; and third, the county should send a signal to the emerging energy and technology communities that—while it is thoughtful and cautious—is a welcoming one that supports these new and expanding businesses.
