Letter: More thoughts on old Page site

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The new transportation facility or bus garage in Gloucester would have less environmental impact if built over by the water tower where the old one exists. Some of the existing parking lot can be used; some of the infrastructure can be used. No trees would have to be cut, ground and stumps removed and toted away.

The people of Gloucester could have fewer taxes to pay. The school board would be looked upon with dignity. The governing board would be looked upon with pleasure. The environmental people would be happy. This could be looked upon as a no-brainer for all.

Keep in mind that a library, health department and extension agent have been mentioned for upfront on above-mentioned property by me previously (“Use property for library,” March 26 Readers Write).
