Letter: Merry Christmas, Virginia

Isn’t it amazing how when one journey ends, a new one always begins? After being a Memphian for 37 years, the idea of leaving there and moving the family to Virginia in 2014 never entered my mind.

My position with a small community bank had come to an end after just one short year due to a corporate restructure. God, however, was working behind the scenes, as He often does, to bless us in ways we could not imagine. After several months of doing what I could to market myself, a small community bank in Gloucester County, needing someone with my particular banking skills, gave me a call.

Within weeks, a potential offer was waiting for me. Should I take it, or continue looking for a position in Memphis? Even though I felt God had something better in store for us, little did I know it would be in Virginia.
