Letter: MCVIC volunteers are friendly, polite, helpful

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Mr. Maggard ("Not in this country," June 14 Readers Write), apparently has never been a visitor in our center.

If he had, he would know for a fact that MCVIC volunteers pride themselves on being friendly, polite and helpful. The center has 24 volunteers and none of them would ever behave the way he has described.

When any materials are brought into MCVIC for distribution to the public, or to be placed out on our white board on the sidewalk, they are always given to me.

On the day he referenced, I happened to be in the back room working in our newly renovated and recently opened "Chesapeake Room." The Clarion was brought back to me, and after I finished my work in the back room I brought the publications up to the front and placed them on the open racks where literature is disseminated.
