Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I noticed that Mr. Wittman and Mr. Taylor both opposed a bill that would transfer funding from the proposed border wall to FEMA for storm mitigation. Considering the devastation from two major hurricanes this past month, that seems like a poor decision to me.

Mexico responded quickly with assistance during this troubling time in Texas. That’s how good neighbors in my opinion have always responded. Maybe we need to rethink the wall for the time being since there are a few other items of a humanitarian nature that need attending to.
