Mathews County has many things to recommend itself as one of the hidden gems of the Eastern seaboard. The county’s most recent publicity campaign theme, “Be Here,” features many reasons, but fails to include the amazing library in our midst.

Perhaps, we take it for granted, perhaps, most of our expectations about libraries is decades behind the reality of the current offerings our library offers—for free. On-site workshops for genealogy research, photography, photo editing. Free access to Kindle and audio books downloaded right to your smartphone. Free online learning and certification resource. Our library provides a safe place for children and teens as well as a resource for adults to peruse their favorite magazine in a comfortable and quiet atmosphere.
