The Mathews Visitor and Information Center (MCVIC) extends a shout-out thank you to all those who made the 2015 “Ringing in Christmas” parade a success. As the sponsoring organization, MCVIC provides the opportunity, but the success of the parade is determined by community commitment and, of course, the weather!

It is truly heartwarming and exciting to see the participants pull into the THMS staging area, put finishing touches on their entries, practice their sounds, and get into the lineup. This year, 50 groups with children (young and old) elaborately decorated floats, music, costumes, animals, bells, and of course Santa and his elves joined the parade lineup and delighted spectators along the parade route.

It shows the community spirit and is exemplary of life in Mathews! The Mathews Christmas Parade has become an annual tradition, so mark your calendars for the second Saturday of December 2016 and join in the fun.
