On Sept. 17 and 18, the Gloucester-Mathews Care Clinic took part in an online, nonprofit donation effort called the Amazing Raise. You may have read or heard something about it as a number of local organizations were involved and advertised their efforts in various ways.

The staff, board, volunteers and patients of the clinic wish to thank everyone who supported our efforts. The folks at Courthouse Restaurant started us off on Wednesday morning with free coffee, and an opportunity to greet their generous customers. One could tell after only a few moments that the food and atmosphere were what people mean when they say “home cookin.”

On Thursday evening we were welcomed at Juan’s Mexican Café and Cantina where again we were met with a warm welcome both from staff and customers and Amazing margaritas.
