As the manager of your newly crowned state champions, the Mathews Minors softball All-Star team, I would like to extend my deepest heartfelt appreciation to each and every individual, business and our Little League program for their contributions to making these young ladies’ dreams become a reality.

This team reached its goal of “To The Top” because of their perseverance, hard work, dedication and the support of our wonderful place, Mathews.

We made history for our league. In its 54-year existence, this is the first team to be crowned state champions!

This journey, although not over yet, has been the ultimate highlight of my softball career. I am so honored and proud to have been a small part of our coaching staff and team in achieving this success.

I ask each of you to say a little prayer today, for all eight states, for our travel safety, our fellowship and to just enjoy the invitational tournament of the southern region champions this week in Luray.

This has been an incredible journey since June 16. It’s truly been a valuable experience for our coaches, team and the Mathews County Little League.

May God bless each of you with His riches!
