Editor, Gazette-Journal: Finally, a moderate governor who is going to reach across the aisle and work on the affordable issues for all Virginians. I wasn’t surprised she won and though I normally vote Republican, myself, not particularly disappointed. The positions she campaigned on were certainly things I could support for the most part. So, what could go wrong? Everything! Once she won and ended that campaign, she immediately began her campaign for the 2028 presidential race and to do that she has to be as far left as possible to get traction. Instead of reaching across the aisle, she immediately moved to eliminate the other side of the aisle through redistricting because surely 45 percent of Virginia citizens have nothing to offer. Now on affordability: Despite an enormous surplus in the Virginia budget, she is moving to increase taxes on a wide variety of common items that will impact all Virginians; eliminate Virginia as a “Right to Work” state, forcing hardworking folks to pay un...
