Letter: Loyal employee not given her due

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am upset with both the old and new commissioners of the revenue with regard to Nancy Higginbotham. First Mr. Hunley for not acknowledging the fact that she had worked for him for so many years and was retiring, and now Mr. Hall for making it look like she would not come to work for him. The fact of the matter is that Nancy put in for her retirement in the early summer, long before the election. Mr. Hunley had a half-page article written and never mentioned her 31 years of service. Mr. Hall has spoken to Nancy on many occasions and knew that for her to help him she would have to withdraw her retirement papers or wait 30 days to work on a contract basis. I didn’t like not reading about her and then reading about her this was no way for her to start her retirement. So, if you see her congratulate her on a job well done, and tell her to enjoy her retirement. She deserves it.
