Lately I have been getting my mom’s house ready for new renters and have tried to use local businesses when possible. I have been so pleased with the quality of work, the reliability of these men and even the cost of the various jobs.
Mr. Royce Austin of Glasshopper did a great job replacing several cracked window panes in windows from the 1940s, plus replacing the screens on the sun porch. Michael Hall did a beautiful job on a new porch roof and Ronnie Hudgins of Hudgins Builders came and did some repair work before I even realized he had been there! I was able to find things I needed at Moughons, like a new toilet seat—made in the USA—and drawer pulls, plus advice on how to repair one of the tracks on a kitchen cabinet drawer. Also Stewart’s Tile and Carpet came and did caulking on the porch and in the bathroom. And though it was a small job, they gave it just as much priority as a large one.
