Letter: Local business a blessing

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

 Today, I needed to mail a package to my son in the Middle East, so I took it to Joyce at Joyce’s Pack and Ship/Crawford Moving and Storage in Mathews. I was told that they only send UPS packages within the United States and that I would have to go to the post office to send items to APO addresses.

I understood and asked if she and her colleague could sell me a box (to place my present into it) and some bubble wrap.

Not only did they both find me a box, Joyce packed it for me, sealed it, and provided me a label. When I went to pay her, she simply replied, “Happy Veterans Day” and thanked my son for his service.

I was so touched by both these incredible women’s kindness and selflessness. They went out of their way to help me mail a package to my son in Qatar, a small country on the Arabian Peninsula, and they don’t have to.
