Letter: ‘Let’s take pride’

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Driving around Mathews, I am seeing a lot of trash in the ditches, in the woods, jamming the culverts. Sometimes there are whole bags of trash, and, often exploded bags of trash. Ugh!

Let’s take pride in our community. Everyone pitch in and pitch out the junk littering your own neighborhood. Do it now before the grasses get high and the poison ivy takes over. Smile. We’ll be clean and beautiful in no time!

I would just like to say—again—"the eagle looks down from the sky with a tear glistening in his eye to view the rolling fields below where trash, daily, continues to grow." Pick it up, please!
