The Gloucester County School Board set a fine example for students to have privacy and safety by providing a male, female, and one other facility for those who have personal identity issues. However, this isn’t good enough for the ACLU. They want to change the 1972 Title IX law that mandates that women must have access to the same quality of facilities as men do in all schools, which includes locker rooms, showers, etc. They are trying to change the law to read “anyone who identifies as a female or male regardless of their anatomy or chromosomes.”
The history of Sodom and Gomorrah provides a clear example of what can occur when there aren’t laws to protect the rights and privacy of women and men, but the fact that the ACLU is opening the door to zero protection for young children in school should make all of us ready and willing to fight to support the law already in place.
