Letter: Let’s make Gloucester a biking destination

A good bicycling infrastructure and recreational opportunities for walking and bicycle riding encourage fitness as well as tourism and economic growth.

The Yorktown Battlefield attracts many cyclists from the Hampton Roads and Williamsburg. Since Gloucester Court House is only 13 miles from the Coleman Bridge, Gloucester Court House would be attractive the cycling clubs of Williamsburg and Hampton Roads, if the cycling infrastructure were improved. The Coleman Bridge has a good cycling lane, yet after crossing the Coleman Bridge, the cycling infrastructure is non-existent.

Here are my recommendations, in order of priority, for improvement of the cycling infrastructure in Gloucester County:
