Letter: Let’s invest in Infrastructure Bonds

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Do you remember War Bonds? Everyone bought them, even school kids. It helped pay for World War II. Since there is no interest being paid on savings, CDs, etc., why not invest in Infrastructure Bonds and get our roads, bridges and schools fixed?

We loan the state or federal government money and get it back with interest. The roads, bridges and schools get fixed, people have jobs and it helps the economy. We take the burden off our children and leave them a better and safer country. It’s a win/win situation for everybody.

Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country. Some say “Why?” I say “Why not?”

What do you think? I’m 89 and I really think this is possible. It’s worth doing! Let’s do it!
