Letter: Ledbetter will bring focus back to community

Local politics the past few years in Gloucester County has been controversial and unsettling. It is time citizens joined together. A few behind-the-scenes politicians had stirred the pot. Their actions did not benefit our community. They have made Gloucester a laughingstock.

We must change this. By our sheriff’s department becoming more of a community-based operation we can do this. We can get involved. With the right policies and programs we can once again make Gloucester "The land of life worth living." I have talked extensively with Jim Ledbetter, a former deputy and he has vowed to do just that.

He is running in the GOP primary against current Sheriff Darrell Warren for a position on the Republican ticket in November.
