Letter: Keeping Onemo clean

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I have for years walked the roads of Onemo—sometimes alone, sometimes with a friend. I did this for exercise and, while doing so, I picked up the roadside litter. Watching the seasons change has given me much pleasure and chatting with the neighbors working in their yards has kept me in touch with what is happening in the area.

Sadly, I am no longer able to walk the roads or pick up the litter. I am hoping that by sharing this, the wonderful, caring people of Onemo will take over the job of monitoring the roadsides and picking up the litter in front of their homes and properties.

Onemo is a beautiful area of Mathews County and should not be allowed to become a dumping ground. Thank you for your concern and attention to this matter.
