Letter: Keep U.S. rebuild going

Editor, Gazette-Journal: Because the performance of the economy is primary and so tied to quality of life, I’m going to focus on this sector and why a winning federal team is so important in 2026. The major immediate focus relates to securing our open borders. As a result of the open borders and millions of illegals imported with massive NGO organizations providing support, many communities were overrun in small towns. This multiyear effort flooded limited housing, drove up rents, overwhelmed local schools, medical facilities, social support and daycare facilities. Employment of many of these millions displaced American citizens from jobs. More citizens employed didn’t catch up on a monthly basis until early this year. Additional crime became a major local burden in many locales, stressing jails, courts and new local NGOs to corrupt the welfare systems for food stamps, day care, free phones, unemployment benefits and so on.
