Letter: Keep Gloucester’s countywide RMA

Recent actions and discussions by the Gloucester Board of Supervisors (BOS) regarding their intent to reduce the countywide Resource Management Area (RMA) prompts me to provide the following observations and opinions in order to provide an additional view on the issue to the citizens of Gloucester County.  

Gloucester residents are blessed by the vast and valuable surface water resources available to us for fishing, recreation and boating.  The Gloucester BOS are the stewards of these resources as they are of county infrastructure, schools and administration. My observation, with regard to their desire to reduce the reach of the RMA for Gloucester County, brings their stewardship of the quality of the county’s surface waters into serious question.
