Letter: Joy and sorrow

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
Joy and sorrow. Those two opposing emotions seldom go together. They did on Good Friday just before Easter. We were sorrowful for the suffering and death of Jesus Christ in atonement for our sins. And we were joyful because He opened the gates of heaven for us.
Now we have the assassination of Charlie Kirk as he was sharing the gospel with college students. While we are very sad about his death, we are joyful because of his life and the many souls he saved and inspired. And we are also joyful because we are certain he is now with Jesus in heaven.
Thank God for Charlie and others like him. Please be in prayers for his family and others whose lives he affected in a positive way. And also pray for those who he inspired and will step up to continue his work.
