Letter: It’s been a labor of love

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I would like to thank everyone who supported this year’s Gloucester County Fair. The work of the many volunteers, the support of the vendors and the attendance of so many loyal citizens is greatly appreciated.

The rain on Thursday evening resulted in a reduction in exhibits and overall attendance; however, the cooler weather on Friday and Saturday was very appreciated.

I was deeply honored to be recognized on Friday by the county, the Fair Association and other civic groups for my 40 years of service to the Fair Association. This has been truly a labor of love which I hope will inspire others to continue the traditions of the fair. The fair has changed in many ways during the years; however, the basic goal of providing quality entertainment to the citizens of Gloucester remains the same.

Thanks again for your past interest and, I hope, your continued support.

Rachael Burnette, president

Gloucester Fair Association
