The United States took in 499 Syrian refugees last month—495 identified themselves as Sunni Muslims while the remainder identified only as “Muslim.” There were no Christian refugees. Our president had committed to bringing in at least 10,000 refugees this year alone. They are being settled throughout the country in small communities, not for assimilation, but to cluster together to maintain their group identity. Ten thousand of these refugees will produce about 100 such colonies distributed throughout those states willing to subject their populations to the assorted expenses and risks. Virginia’s governor has designated us as one of those “Welcoming States.”
